it's over a month and haven't heard from the authorities yet. i submitted my documents on dec. 23 (together with dependant pass app for my husband) to my employer and said they submitted them right away to MOM. more than a month later, still no response. based from the posts here, i figured it only takes 3weeks or less to get the in-principle letter. does longer processing period mean higher chances of getting denied?

how thorough is the verification process? do they call the universities and ask for copies of my transcripts, etc.? do they verify my past employers? does anyone know the exact process/verification steps of granting employment pass? please, i really need your comments because the waiting is driving me nuts. i already tendered my resignation and i think i have made a mistake in doing so...

Things will be very slow over Christmas and Chinese New Year. January is sort of a lost month. Considering you filed in 23 Dec, it probably didn't even get looked at until the first of the year.

I know how that feels, cabels. Hopefully the firm you're applying to is an MNC, instead of a trickster-possible mom 'n pop...
But it IS a step one needs to take - resignation from current post first while counting on the 3-week approval

I think it very unlikely they'll bother to check the validity of your certificates, unless you hold a PhD from National Timbuktu...
Hang in there, check periodically with your EP sponsor.

Hang in there! I started work August first and finally got my EP in late October. Granted, I was already here on a dependent pass, but I was working full time. Signed the contract for the job back in May. Never be in too big of a hurry!

PS: You should have included copies of relevant academic transcripts with your application. Don't need to be certified. If you didn't I would make an appointment and file them as an addendum.

hi everyone! thanks for the replies. i honestly feel much better now. i guess i should not worry too much. i submitted all documents that i could possibly think of, including copies of my transcipt and diploma. will give an update once i hear from them. wish me luck

hi fellas! i got my in-principle approval letter today, and my hubby's dependant pass was also approved. we're off to SG next thursday. i guess it was just delayed because of the chinese new year! again, thanks everyone!
