Hi,

We are a starter in running a Pushcart business and find that it is tough to earn profit due to the high monthly rental(>SGD3K) and the labour cost(>SGD2K). Hence would like to seek advice from experienced ppl of how to run the pushcart biz in a profitable way.... We are also looking at alternatives such as flea market and selling at the "yellow box" space in front of the neighbourhood shops, any experiences to share on which one of these 3 small biz models, i.e 1)pushcart 2)flea market 3)"yellow box" is still workable in Singapore at this pt of time where biz is saturated? Thanks a lot in advance for the kind advice

What r u selling?? depends on your products and location, they must match each other and also the pricing too

Pushcart - can keep the items there, mostly for 1 week to 3 months contract. Work 12 hours
Fleamkt - for 2nd hand items/collection items. Work half day
Yellow box - for early bird, have to bring the tables. mostly work till 12-1pm

if u are selling 1st hand items pushcart and yellow box are workable... u have to try your luck and the crowds

Thanks for the advice, we are selling tibetan accessories ....so from your experiences, is pushcart still profitable and from which month onwards will the sales pick up generally based on the Singapore buying sentiment?

what i can say is depend on where your location and your rangs of pricing.

which months of cos near to the end of the year... but again... if u have your regular customers.. u still can make it...

Pushcarts also depend on your pushcart rental.. u have to workout to see if it make money daily, it same to the flea mkt and yellowbox..

yep, u r rite, the rental is too high so u r also in pushcart biz?

Puschcart biz can still be profitable if you choose the location and your choice of product carefully.

With the Internet world so widely know now, you can think about adding online service or make your product know online while continuing your pushcart retailing, that will make your puschcart retailing more fun and interesting.
