The ones that are reasonably nice would be : Tambuah Mas Indonesian Restaurant and The Rice Table.
However if you have the chance and want to try 'The best nasi padang' (malay cuisine) go to the shop at Zion road.It is situated beside the hawker centre and opposite Great World City.They have variety of dishes and their food is just fantastic.

It's called Nasi Padang River Valley, it's on 55 Zion Rd.

if you love nasi padang, then you guys should try Sinar Pagi at Circular Road - simply yummy!

ERIC - Agree 100% - River Valley Nasi Padang is THE place to go. There may be others out there - but this place is always good, the price is right, and you are one small notch above a hawker stall.

I second The Rice Table. You get to sample 20 dishes for one price. Food is quite yum-yum.
Many Malay hawker stalls where you get to pick and choose the items to go the rice have been good in my experience.

My favourite has been "Warong Nasi Pariaman" at corner of Kandahar Street and North Bridge. YUMMY. Try their curry gravy, ayam panggang.

God I can hardly wait to tuck into all this wonderful food as I've read of this place several times. If I were to take the MRT which stop would I alight at?
I was also wondering if anyone knows if Scan Nasi Janggot is still in existence. I read that it used to be located somwhere along the East Coat. Anyone?

Sometimes gems can be found not as a stand alone restaurant but tucked in coffeeshops.
Lorong2 Toa Payoh Blk125, there is a coffeeshop and within it's confines, a stall named Rose Nasi Padang. No frills...just fills.
Situated approximately right dead centre between the Toa Payoh MRT and Braddell MRT stations, it's convenient location is a plus. Queues are knwon to form just before lunch time and most of the good stuff run out by end of lunch. Give it a shot...

Wish that i have a stall too.... Unfortunately that name has been taken up!
