Singapore Expats

Hi there , a friend of mine had suggested that we open a DIAL-A-BEER business ,,freelance..meaning that people actually call us for delivery of beer and liquor.. but of cos there will be a minimum order and we sent it to the place of delivery... can the man out there tell me if such a business will work out...

anyone keen to joint venture.. also ,does anyone know where I can get the license from ?

Even though i am a beer lover.

But my opinion is that your idea may nt work out. As a consumer, who wants to get beer, for the lower class citizen---> 7-11/cheers is everywhere. As for the middle and upperclass, i am sure they wouldnt mind calling what how much can u earn from sending beer? moreoever i don think anyone would like order 1 carton.

And as my relative is operating a minimart the profit for selling beer is acutally very low.

1 bottle of beer like tiger and carlsberg is 4.60(cost)

And its not so easy to get the license.

with liquor prices anyway high in sG, would anybody want to pay more for delivery,,,, unless the liquor rates are lower than retail....

why does liquor cost so much... is it to discourage .....

U have to write to the Police for the licence. They r the ones issuing the licence to sell beer. But I don't know which department. U can call their helpdesk to ask.

Why not "Dial a Milk" or any other commodity? You are essentially offering a very narrowly defined home shopper service. I don't think you will find the volume numbers necessary to support such a business.

Hi there - I would potentially be interested in talking to you. I would spread the business model to cover most daily need products eg: from supermarkets, flowers, romantic products, other things whatever the customer might need but either does not have the time or the energy to go out and source and buy. It could be a very interesting business if thought out properly and designed professionally. I would target the high class spending market....deliver high class products, on time, in good quality and offer first class service.

Lets talk - could be the start of an interesting partnership.
