My better half has to work on almost every holiday. But so do most people who work in the hospitality industries unless they are in administration/accounts. If in the front lines well somebody has to do it. Will be moreso once the IR's are built.

haha.. i am one of them. no choice, hospitality industries are like that, cant expect all guest service agents to go on leave on PH and left no one to check in and check out the guests. haha

serendipity, just to make you feel better, the first public holiday I took since about a year was on May 1st. And I will miss the holidays this week...

The good thing is I can take a day off on my b'day, the mark of the end of my toddlerhood!
Actually not really a happy event, when the cold reality kicks in, doh!

If you work in the Hospitality Industry there is nothing to encash. It's part and parcel of your employment contract. You will get a day off in lieu and that's all.
