Through rain stained glass....

So....

it's raining.

You look out the window. Your eyes don't see but your thoughts drift far and away. Your heart beats a little fast....

you turn and look at your room. The sofa, the pile of magazines you have been wanting to get rid off, the books you've been meaning to read.

Nothing feels right.

You put in a CD and sink into your sofa.... makes you feel safe.

Bonnie Rait-I can't make you love me.

Everything you wanted to say, each sad emotion that's been plaguing you...

they slowly drift away.

Your breathing steadies as your eyes get heavy.

You're asleep.

Bonnie Rait-I can't make you love me.... what magic in a song.

...what's your mood song for a day like this?

"I ain't no icon carved out of soap, sent here to clean up you reputation"

A truly wonderful lyric from an incredible album.

I like rainy days, I can't lie. but generally today my mood has been one of frustration and agitation -- too much crap going on at the Bailey house.

off to a going away dinner tonight. now I'm sad...

I know, I'm just tired of all the goodbyes.

Mary, it never gets easier. The longer you are here the worse it gets especially as those who have been long stayers as well - makes you just that more close and the good-byes that much harder.

I'm hoping I'm the one leaving next but it might not matter all that much because of the few left that have been here as long as I have. Only a handfull now......

Glad you read between the lines there.

I can sympathise as I've been doing the same thing for a long, long time. I've watched babies born, grow up and leave the nest here all in one overseas posting!

You have taste my friend...

my all time favorite would have to be Rooster and Nutshell. That man he knows what he's singing about... till the day he died.

Through rain-stained glass, one more goodbye,
My borrow'd colours melding
Fast seeping thro' my dust streak'd heart
To paler shores I'm sending,
Packaged close in hearty guise
Disconsolate departings,
The fabricated flimsy words; the last farewells,
The Endings.

Swathe my heart and head anew with heavy steels of mem'ry
Of shared hellos, the last goodbyes
Of integrated futures..
Sure sun will bless for evermore
The jewelled lands of honey...........
Leaving my soul to bask here still
In envied, back-glanced remembr'ings

No more to do now but to raise my home-touched heart,
My sorrows,
Repository of my thoughts
Locked tight once more in waiting
Until, fast sure that rain-streak'd glass is ceded to me sadly
And mine will be the rushed adieu
And mine will be the ending.
