Singapore Expats

hi,we are a familie of 5 ,we have girl she is 12 and twin girls that are4.we are moving to singapore in about 2 month.we want to be near to the mrt station because we are not going the have a car.at the moment we live in thailand we have been here 2 years and we are really looking forward to coming to singapore.we want to be somewhere where my kids can play with other kids we dont have that here,so that will be really nice.where is a good area to live i think our budget is about 3000 to 3.500 .do you think we can get something in this price range.

thank you for you help.there is so much to chose from,that it is difficult to choose we would like a condo with a pool and playground and balkony would be nice too.but what is very importent somewhere my kids will have some friend to play with ,if they are happy then i will be happy too.does anybody know of any playgroups that are good and not to expencive .thank you i am really happy for any help we can get

The best thing will be to choose a school for your 12 year old and then think about travel times to school, work etc. You're right, there is plenty to choose from and everyone will have a different opinion about what or where is better.

What school system is she currently in? Where do you think your children will be going to school in the future (if you're not still here)?

I agree totally k1w1 but think you meant the Australian School which is in AMK. Not many SAS families live in Ang Mo Kio, just not near school or town, I afraid.

One thing that i have learned in Singapore is that never trust Singaporeans. You seem to be a loony to me and be respectful, you may be in the same situation in the future.

thank you for your help.we are in between two schools at the moment the canadian school or tanglin i think .when we go back to norway they have a british school there.but the canadian looks good too.so we dont know what school to take for her jet.do you have any input about the schools which one take or are they pretty much the same thank you

How about ISS or OFS? Lots of Scandinavian kids there and both good schools.
"Norskskolen" is also at OFS every Friday afternoon if your kid is Norwegian. You dont have to live near the MRT, even without a car. Buses are plentyful and taxis are cheap. How about Duchess crest, Tanglin Park, Trevose Park, Aspen Heights or Leedon Heights? All great for kids. You could also consider east coast, but further from OFS/ISS, depending on where you live.
