Hi, I am going to apply for this Landed PR scheme. and an immigration consulting company asked me for a fee of S$4,500. I think this figure is a bit too high; I expected something like ~S$2,000. What do you think? Am I being ripped off?

Also, will hiring an agency increase my chance of getting a PR? Or do you think I'd better prepare documents by myself? Can you suggest some good trustable immigration agencies?? I will appreciate your help.

as far as i know the only agency who can arrange the landed pr for you are smc consultants, they are appointed by the ica. and yes, i do believe you are being ripped off. i applied last year and i paid hkd 7500 for it, which is around sgd 1700.

check www.smcmc.com, i think any agency which claims they can arrange the landed pr for you is ripping you off. btw, you have to go through them, you cannot apply for the landed pr by yourself.

Are you of Chinese ethnicity?

If not, and if granted, you will be the first non-Chinese I've ever heard of that got LPR (out of 20 or so that I know in total).

If you are, then the advice above is good. That one company is the source, make sure you are dealing with them directly.

i have a fren who intend to apply for LPR too,
May i know how long it takes until u get the Landed PR?
i heard around 6months, is it?
and i heard that once we get the LPR, does he have to stay in singapore for some time and cannot go back to his country temporary, is it true?
care to share ur experiences of getting your LPR?

as far as i know, it costs you only SGD 1500 to process your form. extra fees that asked by agencies would go to their pocket. if you are not in singapore now, you can do research which agency that charge you cheaper. call singapore immigration in your country and ask who is their representative agent for applying LPR and do research for other agents as well, because different agent charges different fees. but your application goes to one place (SG immigration). and dont believe if they say any promise or all the good things if you use their service, because only immigration who can decide wheter you can get it or not. agent only can help you to submit your applications. the process takes around 3 months to come up with the result.

sorry for the late reply, i haven't been following this thread actually. but yes, it took around 6 months before the LPR was approved and another 1-2 months to convert it to a regular PR once you have landed a job.

the LPR is valid for 2 years after issue. during that period you should look for a job to have the LPR converted to a normal PR. it doesn't matter what job btw, you can work at burger king as well if you want to (that's what the ICA lady told me btw).

finally, it's not true you cannot exit singapore with the LPR, you can enter and exit as many times as you like.
