Singapore Expats

I used to visit a German woman who "did" my feet in her home. She was a certified foot care specialist and had all kinds of equipment and facilities (machines) to do a proper "medical pedicure" -- much more thorough than pedicures generally offered in salons.

Unfortunately she left Singapore last year and I have not been able to find anyone who provides the same services. Any recommendations?

Wow.. the pedicure you describe sounds pretty interesting, actually. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of machines did this woman use? In short, what were the extra procedures that you got through this pedicure treatment that you wouldn't have gotten if you had opted for a "normal" pedicure? And how much did it cost per session?

I don't think Rosalie would use that term. She is a chiropodist and podiatrist, she looks after toenails as part of treating the whole foot. I went to her with athlete's foot and flaking nails, both of which seemed to happen not long after I moved here. Details of her services are on her website.

The German lady I used to see used mechanical power rather than manual energy to do such things as filing off dry/dead skin cells, pushing back cuticles, buffing nails. Imagine a dentist's office with a mechanised tool with lots of different fittings to do different things. And she sterilised all the fittings before and after use. I just found this more effective, particularly in filing away rough and tough skin on and around my heels -- different speeds, varying courseness of files. She also treated fungus.

Plus I liked the privacy of having this done in her home, sitting in a very comfortable purpose-designed chair (again, rather like a dentist's chair).

Sessions were around $35 for 40 mins and I used to go every six weeks - kept my feet in really good shape (and I am a runner/footballer!!)

Just hope I can find someone similar some time.

My experience with pedicure in asia is that they file your nails nicely but that's not what I need.

So I tried the term Medical Pedicure Singapore on Google.

My first hit is this topich and it's exaclty what I need. And her shop is even nextdoor to the place I stay.

I directly send her en email for an appointment.

FYI...went to visit the clinic the other day and they said that Rosalie would be returning to the office 18th May...

I used to see a lady called Lisa but she has left, and now I see a lovely young lady at Orchard Clinic where my osteo is. She is either from Australia or New Zealand (they all sound the same to me), and is wonderful! I see her for my toenails and hard skin, my feet are far too hideous to be fixed by a pedicure.
