Stressed? Frustrated or Just Ticked off?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
OK I'm having a bad day and feeling all of the above.
Letting out or should I say typing out a full pitched blood curdling scream still hasn't released all the pent up negative energy and frustration I'm feeling. I've had a drink and smoked a few ciggies already all to no avail; so the question is what do you do when you're feeling this way to rid yourself of the tension? (and I might add taking a vacation is out of the question at this point in time.)

Usually I'd take 5 deep breaths..
or listen to some angry music ( eg Rage Against The Machine )
or 'soul' music ( eg Shakti the album- Pat Metheny ( I think ) )
or know that life is about everything, sad, anger, happiness..
..because of all that emotions and more, know that you're alive!

But
not Rocky part one to five,six....(?)
Rent a comedy, good for the soul.
Or if I were a crossdresser ( outside of costume parties that is )..I'd put on my boot cut jeans, tye dye top, headband, platform shoes, big sunnies, smoke a ciggie (pretend it's a joint ), beer in hand.....
turn on the hi-fi or put on my walkman ( the old school with orange sponge kind ) and shake my booty to...
American Woman by the Guess Who.
Shake it like I don't care.

Its 3.30 in the morning and I'm wide awake and my ever loyal and persistent nemesis, insomnia has come calling AGAIN!
My problem is that I have a tendency to take issues/ problems to heart and to bed and there they lurk in my subconscious waiting to take hold of me even in my sleep.
I seem to always have been this way. Anyone else? This place really gets to me sometimes.
Icedragon, Thanks for the suggestion. Mr. GC is aware as I unloaded on him of course but poor guy, he's used to my erratic sleep patterns by now and as for the private time bit ahem......
CB, it isn't PMS.
Tiki, I thought American Woman was by Lenny Kravitz. I like it a lot but is there more than one version of the song? I like the comedy suggestion too.
Quasi, I'll happily imbibe a tipple with you.

GC, thats no good.
I used to feel like that a fair bit... can't stop thinking, can't sleep, problems mounting.
You could try the breathing technique I mentioned on the guest thread:
For the breathing go to a quiet place. Sit up straight and comfortably, breathe in through your nose feeling your diaphragm- you will be able to feel your abdomin rising breathe slowly for a count of 5, hold it then breathe out through your mouth for another 5. As you release your breath feel the weight come off your limbs, shoulders etc.
You have to stop allowing yourself to go over the thoughts. One thing I did was to buy a CD of guided meditation and relaxation techniques, out the headphones on and listen to it, do the exercises etc before bed.
If you aren't getting enough sleep you may end up not producing enough seratonin which can lead to depression.
Look after yourself.
Hope you feel better soon.

Here's a perfect and unfailing suggestion to insomnia:
Have a baby!
Well, at least the insomnia will be put to good use!
Seriously, though - sake and excercise - read, take your mind off the matter at hand.
Feel for you, GC!
