Singapore Expats

I was thinking the other day about people I would most like to meet or have met (depending on whether they are still alive). I remembered and relocated an old diary where I had made a list of these people in my mildly younger days.

I was curious to see that my list hasn't changed that much today. Nelson Mandella & Da Vinci are still the top two on my list.

So wondering who you guys and gals would like to meet...dead or alive if you had a chance and why?

My Grandmother as she died before I was born. Also my Grandfather before Changi damaged him irrepairably.

I did also have on my list 'Bruce Willis' with lots of little love hearts around his name. I had intended to marry him...but I wasn't going to mention that was I....

Hay CB. That's nice to want to meet and talk to your grandparents. What would you ask them out of curiousity? That is if you want to tell us...

Just thank them for being who they were...

Would like to meet Jim Morrison for his voice, for his looks, and of course to save his soul. Women are such suckers for bad boys!

Akira Kurosawa, Dali and Picasso, Ayerton Senna.

Mother Teresa, not to talk...just to watch her and understand what made her the way she was.

Indira Gandhi, for her strength but more for the mad streak she had which almost ruined a nation called India.

Mahatma Gandhi, so I could give him an earful. Will never understand why he agreed to the partition of India. Bad bad move. Yes, I tend to focus on his negatives, he made many mistakes.

John Travolta for being John Travolta.

Vivian Richards, stylish West Indian batsman and Sachin Tendulkar, greatest Indian batsman. Why meet them? Because I love watching cricket and am an avid follower of the game. I have watched these two live but a chat is what would have been great.

And Dalai Lama.

Colin Firth, obviously, but I'd have to not speak to him otherwise I'd make a fool of myself by drooling.

Iris Murdoch, one of the best authors of all time, I think, but gone now.

Lance Armstrong, for being the best against all the odds.

Madonna, to see what a world beating, kick-ass singer is really like.

Professor Stephen Hawking, another person with huge problems he overcame.

Stephen Fry, so clever and a beautiful chocolate voice.

Martin Luther King, no need to say why.

His Holiness, The Dalai Lama.

Marilyn Monroe and Uma Thurman, two beautiful and clever actresses.

The Thai guy from Anna and the King because he's gorgeous.

Martin Amis because he's brilliant and tetchy.

David Attenborough, the best in the world at wildlife stories.

Michaelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo Da Vinci.

George Clooney because it's George Clooney.

Stella McCartney because I love her clothes.

Trinny and Suzannah because they're such wicked cows, but I like them.

Gandhi(M) for his vision of a nation

Bush and Blair for the comedy double act we all love to hate

Patrick Swayze, enough said.

Margot Fontein and Rudolph Nureyev. No other two ballet dancers had their chemistry.

James Joyce. Love him.

Shelley, Byron, and of course, Jane Austin.

The Bronte Sisters. To find out what it was like in Emily's head when she wrote Wuthering Heights and if Charlotte had a real live man in mind for her Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre. (Don't us girls just love the bad boys?)

Edward Norton, one of the best American actors ever, IMHO.

Cleopatra, to see what made her the woman she was.

Jordan, the glamour model, to see the men's reactions and whether that saying 'men don't like fake boobs' applies. lol.

Prince Harry because I bet he's a good laugh.

Maria Callas for her voice and her passion for life.
