Isn't that where all the Singaporean 'uncles' go for prostitutes and come back and pass aids on to their wives? Remember reading about that in the Straits Times.

well, it's done....weve made a hotel reservation for Harris Hotel in Batam, any last minute advice??? We have only been to Singapore....came straight from Midwest USA! It seems like Batam, might be a close and relatively harmless way to get us to see some of the other countries in the area, that we really want to go to, just have been a little scared!

I've heard that Pulau Ubin is nice for nature lovers, and to see the way Singapore used to be. But unless they like to do alot of hiking and or bike riding, not sure if they will enjoy it. I have not been there yet....this is just what i've heard.

Are you a Reporter with SPH - Your comments sound just like the biased drivel they dish out sometimes when it comes to Batam. BTW Singapore has a far bigger and more infested sex industry then Batam, JB and KL out togethor. But that never gets reported does it. The reason why Batam gets reported is the CPF leak of money out of Singapore by male retirees. This is also why they closed teh casinos there.
