I think you are allow to buy back "some" (not sure how they define that) but not loads of it. If the immigration found it in your bag, you need to be able to convict them that it is for personal only, not for sales.

However, never heard of anyone get into trouble with that. Just make sure it end in a bin and it's ok

It is true, you can purchase chewing gum from the Guardian chemist. They take down your details, IC, take a DNA sample and when they find gum anywhere they have your sample to match it to. Not sure what the fine is when you have been caught. JK

Lots of dentists sell the sugar-free gum. It's not banned any more thanks to pressure from our American friends but the authorities don't want it to be too readily available either. I rather like not having gobs of the horrible stuff all over pavements and mall floors like we did in the UK where it costs a fortune for local authorities to clean the stuff up.

j/k you can easily find the answer yourself, imagine selling some gum, need to do DNA test which is costly I believe..so, you get the answer huh?

JK=just kidding...Why take down your IC #? If they find chewing gum on the pavement how else could they identify it unless they took your DNA sample? Just seems silly. Agree with skye, it is nice not having the stuff stuck to your shoe or underneath a chair or table.

My daughter thinks chewing gum is fantastic and I'm sure it is because she knows it is supposed to be banned in Singapore. Funny how bans can make something seem more attractive!

When we go back home she always buys it.

Myself - well I just stick to nicotene chewing gum which you can also get here.
