Krabi holiday

hey pple..anyone interested to go for a short holiday at Krabi in the month August??
its definitely an ideal place for sea sports and relaxation..
for info, i am a singaporean, 27, m...carving for a short getaway

Erm, Krabi in August might be a bit wet. And rough sea as well....

There isn't. It's a solid hour by speedboat to the Phi Phi and the nearest decent dive sites.

jpatokal, are phi phi resorts still "alive"? Already rebuilt? I heard they were swept clean during tsunami.... Would be intrested on going around there if there's already some places to stay (instead of commuting by speed boat from Krabi).

Yes there are still places to stay there as only one side of the island suffered the worst of the impact.. I have a friend that is doing some volunteer work there on and off... People need to go there as they are desperate for the money to help them rebuild and are not getting as much money as people think they are.
Diving is better there than Krabi... but east coast is much better.. clearer water as the monsoons on the west coast upset visibility conditions..
