What do I recommend to foreign visitors???

Two foreign acquaintances just asked me to recommend places in Singapore for them to sightsee/do. Seriously, I've no idea at all. The only places I can think of are those boooorrrringgg tourist-y 'attractions'. I'm really tempted to tell them not to come here and spend their money elsewhere.
So, any brillant suggestions? One is a Japanese and the other is British.

Are they both men? There's always Orchard Towers.
Naah, seriously. Try the jurong birdpark, clarke quay, and..... erm...

You seem a bit negative about it really. Perhaps you don't get out and about yourself? Then again it all depends what type of things they are interested in doesn't it?
Maybe they would like some of the "touristy" things...the zoo is a beautiful place to wander around, as is the bird park and botanical gardens, all certainly different to Japan and Britain.
Nightlife is good too, lots to choose from, but depends on their tastes really. The museums here are really good too, a whole selection of them to choose from, including the chapel at Changi etc, and the tunnels at Labrador Park.
There is lots more, just need to look for it...

i would suggest the night safari which is great, your guest will love it, for shopping(souvenirs) or culture then Chinatown, little india, malay/Holland village, Bugis street, Sim lim square (electronics) for the Brit
Nightlife
Take apperitif at the new asia bar @ 37th floor, Swiss stamford hotel. Happy hour from 3pm - 9pm (i guess), 1 btl Möet & chamdon at only S$70.00 (u.p in supermarket S$84.00). you guys can enjoy the eve watching the sunset with a glass of champagne/cocktail/beer and some fresh oyster. hmm...
and afterwards headoff to chijmes/boat or clark quay for dinner, etc..

How about a food tour ? ... roti prata, teh tarik in a sarabat stall ... pork jelly, cha kueh tiao in Chinatown food centre ... fish head curry in Little India, etc ... then end their trip in a nice restaurant.

You might be shocked to hear this, but I've brought a couple of tourist friends to some up market food courts like the one in Wisma Atria....and they all loved it! I guess its got to do with the variet, especially if you are rushed for time in Singapore.
Other than that, I recommend Arab street and Serangoon Road, never fails for the fact that these places have so much flavor and history.

Contains lots of information about where to shop, eat, and have fun in Singapore at a great deal.
Haven't officially launch but information online is already good enough.
Check it out. Especially tourist and local shopping fans.

Ohh my !! As a Singaporean myself, I wonder what to do..anyways, the only thing I can think of is the zoo, night safari and sentosa.
Basically, the birdpark is a waste of money. I brought my kids last week,as they are too happy looking at birdies, and it was so WARM there.. and nothing much.Plus the monorail I think I paid about $18 or $20 for 1 adult. And it seems that the monorail drivers were bugging to see my tickets all the time.Reason being, you are only limited to 1 whole ride. What do you expect ..i have kids.. n its so hot..after walking ,,you just feel like sitting down in a cool place.
Oh yeah since Singpore is a food paradise, bring them to Long Beach to try seafood... or maybe to Kelong...hmmm ..what else... yes..MUSTAFA's to do some shopping.

Hi, sorry was new to this site and was too overly excited to post and share info i've found from this new site.
Didn't expect it to turn out into an ad scam. as a foreigner, i have visited the places recommended with my family and found that these places truly live up to what was being written on the site.
Sorry for the misunderstanding though.
