Hi Guys
Had an accident over the weekend (nothing serious) but got some facilai abrasions that look worse then they are.
Anyone know how to give basic care and what to do with them to make them heal quicker?
Thanks

I had half my face scraped off in a bike accident...
1. Use povidone-iodine on the wounds. This works wonders
2. Do NOT get the scabs wet. Do not use a cream, lotion, etc.
3. Do NOT pick on the scabs

What have you been up to Baffy?

I don't think there is any way you can make them heal quicker just have to let things take their normal course.

Should not use any creams?
The problem is that they have sort of gunked over and I don't know whether it is a proper scab or not. A scab to me looks reddish in coulour but mine looks more creamy. What about anti-septic salves?

No, don't use salves, you'll just soften the scabs and leave scars. Use povidone-iodine. Antiseptic salves are only good for raw burns.

Think you just have to let it dry out.
Most important would be not to pick on the scab, lest it scars.

OP, best to seek out a dermatologist immediately. You only have one chance to make it right and time is running out.
I had a very small scrap on my face, about 1 cm in diameter and immediately headed for my dermatologist. She recommended neosporeen to help it heal without leaving a scar. Mine was very minor and shallow. Doctor needs to look at the wound in person to diagnose. Take good care of it.

i have 2 ways. Both work but 1 of them you may find my method absurd but it work.
Method 1
I had my face -cheek, nose, chin slash by bushes thorns while playing hide-an-seek when young. My dad apply Darlie toothpaste over it daily and voila! there isn't any scar u can find after recover.. even the skin color tone is same as the unharm ones
MEthod 2
Spray Yves Rocher Bio Specific Hydration Toning Mist over the clean abrasion. I overturned while playing buggy go-kart few mths back and i din apply anything but only the spray, the wound dries up fast and heal fast. the only negative part is tat i itch hand go peel the dries skin so i din get even color tone.

Thnaks for all the suggestions.
Seems like drinking water is a common cure for everything and should be done anyway.
The scabs have klifted now i got a big red patch and a few more persistant deeper wounds.
Hopefully it will turn out aslright.

well, it is a gaping gash, first thing is to prevent infection, antiseptic wash/ointments.
Once a scab has formed, you can use vitamin E oil/cream to let it heal faster and leave less marks. It work ok!
If you are keloid prone, you might need to ask a doctor about scar creams or patches.
If you are a vain-pot, and when your gash has healed and scab dropped out and still you skin has turned red/brown (but that's mainly for asian skin), you can use fade creams or creams containing AHA or BHA.
Lastly, maybe you'd look more handsome and rugged with a scar on your face, so you can just do step no. 1 and then bugger the rest.
