Hi,

Was thinking of driving to Langkawi, but I believe taking the car across by ferry is an expensive and time consuming option. Some websites say you can park your car at a private car park overnight and take the ferry personally.

Since horror stories abound on treatment of singapore cars in malaysia, i wanted to get some feedback and tips on this from someone who might have done this in the past (i.e. driven to langkawi and left the car at this car park overnight for 3-4 nights)

cheers

SG car? Not sure then.

Last time with a MY car it was okay. We had the same concerns too, but that's how it's done to visit Langkawi.

Done this a few times (at other MY islands) and never had any problems. But it's wise to tip the attendant when you park the car.

Better to play it safe. Rent a car at malaysia and enjoy your time there without being too worried about the safety of your vehicles.

Yes, tip him well and you can feel safe. Perhaps 50% more than the parking charge. We did that too.
