Hi there,

I'm currently undergoing a deg. on banking & finance..Would a green horn like myself without any hands on experience be able to find a banking job easily? PS: I'm a S'porean.
Sometimes, I'm rather sceptical if this line is suitable for me.
Would appreciate if I can get some advice from experienced banker here....
Thks !! :D

Hi! I'm not an experienced Banker in Singapore but was a former Banker in Malaysia. I never try to get any bankers related job here although the demand are there for Malaysian(PR). The job was good depending what position you held and with which Company!!

Hey.. what’s important is make sure you get your degree. Having a deg. on banking & finance does not mean you must work in banking line. So many other option too!!

Most of banks have Graduate Recruitment programs, you just have to look out for it, and give it a go!

There are so many different parts within a bank, from marketing, investment, finance, trading, borrowing, (commercial) etc...so many different areas you can explore within a bank.

Once you are in, they allow you for a rotational training , you'll have a chance to work for different departments within the bank and see what role you like the best and suits you the best.

so think banking as a career is not too bad......
