Where should I look for Chinese cooking classes for myself?
Also where can I send my maid so that she learns to cook?

Appreciate some help with teaching my maid how to cook decent meals :)

I jsut have one piece of advice: keep your maid away from your cooking oil... otherwise you'll be using 10 gallons of oil per week

Thanks for the info!! Lots of options at the link. About the maid...she uses about 2-3 Lts of olive oil every 2 weeks.....the food is not oily..so then..what she does with it?...put it in her hair to make it look pretty?

it is not because it doesn't look oily that it is not...

I've got a friend of mine who used to teach maids how to cook european food (because they already know how to cook asian style food)

she gives them good advice as per diets etcetc

hi, the community centres do offer cooking classes. attended a cooking class recently at a cc which was meant for beginners. boy, the participants are definitely not beginners so the teacher tend to go a bit faster and spoke in chinese most of the time (though it is to be in english). the one and only poor maid there has to ask the participants for help. not all are nice though. the handouts are given though.

went for 2 lessons and stop not practical. prefer to look at cookbook and try at home. ha ha ha

Another question...I have seen some maids get together inside Chatsworth school by Carnhill Rd on Sundays. Are there some kind of classes?

didn't see any.

As my friend explained to me: the maids come to Spore to send some money back home. when they leave the philippines they pay for everything including the school. so adding a training for cooking (which is pricey for them) is not their priority...
as a consequence maid schools do not really provide maids with a decent cooking teaching when they do/if they do.
