Singapore Expats

Hello,

we are booked to come to Singapore next week but I am reading and hearing that it is not salfe/healthy just how bad is the haze from the fires?

It's quite bad, in comparison with the normal days, but many of us still walk in ths streets because it's still bearable so long as you don't spend too long hours outdoors, but not too good for those who suffer from asthmas.

Here's some photos taken yesterday of the haze in the city from the 30th floor.

It's not good but not terrible right now. The good news is that the haze will probably be gone (for this year...) by the end of the month, when the monsoon rains kick in and douse the fires.

i dont think its that bad. just look alittle hazy. but every thing remains the same here. psi has alrdy dropped to 67 now. but its not stable.

Looks better today, PIS: 50 plus, let's hope it stays that way.

The Haze sucks.

It even delayed my flight from KK, Sabah to Brunei on Tuesday mornign makign me miss a Briefing and gnerally layign waste to my business trip. If you are flying in Borneo check your flight times and don't have really tight deadlines.

What I really don't like is the the mixture of hot, humid, haze - Meanign by the time you have walked a couple of kms you are covered in dirty sweat and generaly feel unclean.

do singapore scientists have the technology to make rain. make some rain for us leh....

it comes in contact with us! more ppl wil get sick.

Why would people get sick from rain?

The Haze affects the lungs....

Do you inhale rain?

maybe confusion with acid rain?

by the way is anyone else getting chapped lips because of the haze? i hardly ever do and am wondering why i'm getting it now.

haze is not acidic, when dissolved in water, will not affect us, unless someone drinks it.

yes,, this is call rain seedling, it has been around long long time ago

Before you go shouting in large blue print you should get your facts straight. What is rain seedling? Tiny young rain?

It's called "cloud seeding".
