You only need $1000 to open the account, but they charge you a few bucks ($10?) if you drop below $10k. Applies to all Sing banks as far as I know -- but I bank with UOB because their corporate Internet banking is free, while DBS wants $50/mo.

Incredible bureaucracy awaits. Make one trip to the bank in advance to collect the application forms and have fun...

If you sign up with DBS and want to also pay bills, then yes. Quite a rip-off, isn't it? Go for UOB instead.

You may want to look up more info for UOB, as well as Maybank. Maybank seems to offer quite attractive rates.

OCBC has a corporate account with only a 500 $ deposit and only after six months you pay 15 $ penalty for a balance less than 10K $.

Internet not charged either.

500? woot.. tt's a big catch for small operators & startup.

I think need to put the monthly sub for I-banking aside. If you are trading high volume, what eat into your pocket is the rate :D

UOB still the best, they offer the best rate :D
