Help! Having a gathering of old school cronies in Jan and need to learn to play golf PRONTO!!! where can I go? Happy to ferry to Indo or drive to M'sia if I have to!

None of that once a week deal - i can take 2-3 day's leave and that's ALL!!

Golf is not like .. say ... scuba diving ... where you could go through a 2/3-day crash course and start exploring the underwater world.

For golf, yes, you might find an instructor who could give you a 3-day crash course on theory and strokes/swing ... but most importantly its the committment and decipline to practice regularly. Else, you'll find yourself playing "hockey" or digging grass most of the time.

Go to a golf range, check with the pros there regarding lessons. They would be most willing to help Grasp the basics ... then start whacking it away at the range. After you get a feel for it, go to one of those golf courses in Malaysia or Indonesia to experience actual playing on greens.

You can get the basics at Marina Green Superbowl. They have 2-month elementary courses (again it depends where you live). If you are in hurry, you can have one-to-one lessons. I know a good coach there. If you need his contacts, send me PM. Good luck

They have quite a few coaches, friends who have taken lessons there and commented very good. I find Queens quite reasonable, and easily to get to close to town....

You can get a lot from a few hours with a good golf pro, but it takes practise to really improve your skills. There is no "quick fix" but a good pro can help you become more consistent pretty quickly. I am a PGA pro from Canada working at a school here in Sing if you need a hand.
