Singapore Expats

We are moving to Singapore soon and recently took a holiday there with our then 5 month old son.

I noticed that taxis were very relaxed about child restraint seats so we had to resort to holding our boy on our laps. This is something I'm not comfortable about at all as it will only take one accident to regret it for the rest of our lives.

Can I ask how other parents are combating this problem and what solutions you've come up with?

Why not all the taxi equip with a baby’s seat ya..? Wonder why. But do we manage? That’s one reason we bought a car. I think you should carry with you, your baby stroller that’s come with detachable baby’s car seat.

I know a lot of people use a Joey Safe (or similar) as they are really portable and easy to carry around, but they are for kids over 1 year old, not sure how old your son is now, or will be when you get here. If you haven't heard of these, you can check at this website

Not sure of their availability here though, but you can order them over internet from various places.

In the meantime you may have to do what the above poster said and use a convertible stroller/baby seat.
