Hi! I already got my driving licence for sometime now, but I don't own a car and so I sometime uses my dads on week ends but I have a problem. I don't understand how the road in singapore works... I'm a "Road Blind". How does the taxi drives know which road to take when we tell them the location we want to go? Is it really only by driving everyday that you well know?

Putting on make-up, like knowing the roads, is all a matter of experience. Some of us can figure it out as we drive. Plus, us seasoned ones can do both simultaneously while driving.

It could be due to the fact that I saw a guy narrowly miss being hit by someone else and at the same time nearly cause another accident because believe it or not he was stopped in the middle of Dover Road (sort of doing a u turn but not moving) reading his street directory. Then he did the u turn and abruptly stopped in the right hand lane to check his street directory again. All this time still blissfully unaware of the havoc he was causing on the road around him.

Sometimes this place needs a little road rage instead of letting people get away with such stupid moves.

Micknlea, I know you were serious. I seen so many accidents and near accidents because of reading maps and talking on handphones over the past couple of decades that it's one of the reasons why I sold my car back in '88 and haven't owned one here since.

Haven't seen many accidents caused by women putting on makeup here as most drivers give them wide berth in the best of times.......

Micknlea, yes i agree yours was a serious point. That kind of behaviour should be punishable by law. People should at least have the decency to pull over at a nearby carpark before checking the directory. That's what i meant by checking on the go.

SMS, ever heard of red lights? That's when the make-up goes on.

Actually now there is some HP Xda that are functionable with GPS.

No harm trying that out...

Many good respone from that as it also give out voice sound on directions.
