Singapore Expats

I am from Sydney and miss my coffee from my local cafe. The closest I've come to great coffee is Coffee Bean. Not too keen with the local coffee.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried coffees at The Coffee Connoisseur ?

It's in the LG floor of the QVB. I also love the brand "Karmee" & "Coffex".

Please try tcc (The Coffee Connoisseur), also I tasted a very tasty " long black" at the TAPAS TREE in Clark Quay. Good luck with ur hunt for the best coffee place in Singapore.

Coffee is an art, what type of coffe you're after? I guess depends on what coffee beans they use ..then of course the skills, the tempature, mix of the frost, milk and coffee. It's really personal preference.

there are couple at around the robertson quay area, one is in the UE square, a small Italian wine/coffee/bakery place.

Then there's this nice bar (which serves nice coffee) in this Brazilian restaurant in Robertson Walk.

Oh, there is also a nice coffee place I think try this aussi brunch nice cafe setting place up on the 2nd or 3rd? level of the Great World City.

So far the coffee served in the cafes around the Robertson Quay area thatI've tried has all been quite good! b

What about Spinelli? that is also quite close to coffee bean, but not quite as americanish as Starbucks...

Dounut still did not understand what is so great about coffee at these places like Coffee Beans, TCC, Starbucks ? ?

I brought my stove top espresso maker with me from Melbourne and the coffee beans so I can be my own barista at home. Nothing like it.

So it's all back to your place for a cappuccino then eh?

We have so many different coffee companies sponsoring cafes in Sydney these days it's impossible to remember which coffee is a favourite

And as a green tea drinker even I am seduced into drinking the coffee in Sydney these days....maybe not so sure I'll be doing the same at the Coffee Bean or that awful Coffee Cartel...

The cafe on the street level at the back near the Marks & Spencers in Parkway Parade is excellent! Sorry I can't think of the name of the place.

I think of it as 'upstairs' but I suppose it IS street level

It is an 'open' kind of shop that does its cooking in a side room off at the back but makes the coffee out the front in full view of patrons as it should be

The cakes are yummy and not too expensive either

Kind of bears out what was said here earlier about where the best coffee comes from in the English speaking world......

Go to an HDB, find the nearest hawker and say "Kopi." It is almost as good and four times cheaper than anything at those high price joints.

Disagree!!!! they taste totally different......different flavour!

but AGREE on the price part! It gives that kick.....but there is no way the taste can compare to the real frequent brewed coffee!
