Any idea? I was quoted about $79 per month on the monthly plan and $1667.40 for 3 year plan.

do you think it's overpriced?

yes, it is.
$79/30 =~ $2.60 per day.
if you use only twice a week or 8x a month ===> $79/8 =~$10 per trip.

$79 for what kind of membership? diamond, platinum, or gold?

the only thing to do with california consultants :- bargain, bargain, and bargain ..

i know few friends of mine managed to get platinum membership for less than $79/mth..

the consultant said $79 is the lowest he can go yesterday. After yesterday, the membership will be much expensive...I guess I will wait for another around of promotion.

Don't believe a word of their lies. According to their rate sheet (ask them to show it to you!), $1088 prepaid will get you a 24-month gold membership (=$45/month), and you can nego additional months and freebies on top of that too.

Yeap...and they have different promotions at different times... especially when they are opening a new gym. but if $79 allows you to use their different gyms, then i think it's probably about right as my fren got the same deal last year at November. but it's not contract, only month on month.
