if you guys have used a particular website / travel operator that does package / group holidays for asian countries...likes of vietnam, thailand, cambodia etc.. i'd be very interested in finding out...

Why a group tour? Traveling on your own is easy enough. But check out for example...

Brightmoonx,
You should go and visit Saigon. I've been there for work and plan to go back one of these days. Just be very careful about the drinking water and fresh vegetable salads there.
Cheers

i backpacked to saigon last june! great place to go... i dont recommend full tours. you guys should fly in, get your own hotels, look around yourselves but join a tour agency for maybe one or two places such as mekong delta, cuchi tunnels and cao dai temple

I went to Saigon few months back. Like the beef noodle a lot, so called 'Pho'. Got to try it when you are there. By the way, Saigon = HCMC. Probably will go again soon, including Hanoi.

I too am keen on seeing Vietnam and Thailand for the first time soon
I plan to go to both anyway but would love to join you in a small group, safety in numbers etc
hh can perhaps show us Vietnam and someone else can show us all BKK
As for the rest, SE Asia is our oyster...just a matter of the right timing for mutual convenience...a few days at a time would be enough to test the waters for me at least
Can always go back and explore more later by ourselves
Hanoi/Bangkok

will be going to Hanoi on the 12th through the 15th of February, and flying in to Bangkok on the 9th of Feb.
I've been to Bangkok before, and I have to say the food's good. really really good. can't wait to try the street food again.
as for Hanoi, if you get the hostels, they're really cheap. for a 3 night stay, i paid 40 USD (that's for 2 beds already, private room to boot).
so yeah, will update after the 15th of Feb. hehe.
