it's better than average, but I would need more depends on your skills, expectations etc.
for english teacher or taxi driver its probably great

should even be enough to get an EP as well

depends on what your spending capabiilty is like, life style is like

do you drink, shop. do travellings, eat out, if so restaurant? etc...live in HDB or condo etc...

That also really depends on the job you are performing, your qualifications and the years of experience that you bring. Without knowing that it would be hard to judge whether an S$5k salary is decent or not.

to me it sounds lovely... but then I'm a stay at home mom so any income is lovely.

I think you'll have to take into consideration your expected lifestyle, where you're going to live, what kind of job conditions you want... the list goes on. Think hard.

yes S$5000 is ok for me i guess..

S$0 - rent -> i live near east coast park (by near i mean in ECP)

$0 - food -> my friends mom makes awesome food

$0 - liquor -> where are those dam grapes i bought last year

$0 - commute -> you know roller blades have 8 wheels..does your merc have those many

$0 - clothes -> its a crime ifff you are caught stealing

$5000 -> the SGT on all the above.....
