I know my employer, and Im sure that everything is OK. I'm confident, but I haven't still any paper assuring my work neither my EP.

I repeat, Im sure I wont have any problem with company, but what about inmigration?

Should I ask employer for any kind of document in order to be able to enter Singapore??

You need a copy of yor ep when you land, ask them to email the details to you.

After you arrive, you can apply for your green card. I think within 1 week.

I don't know the rules for canadians or EU national Spainards

you don't need anything when you arrive. u get a 2 week tourist visa and getting an EP should take no more then a week. so you just show up with your flock of sheep (luggage) and get the tourist visa and submit the EP paperwork on Day 2.

I arraived beg of this year from europe, i just entered Spore as a tourist and you need to get your green card while your tourist visa is still valid... i think its for 30 days or so???
well, i went for medical exam first day, it took a week for all results, and then went to MoM. No problem at all. Pretty easy once you've done it. Remeber, that I was pretty nervous in the beginning aswell.

Just open your mind and your eyes and let it all happen.

When we arrived last week, we had my husband's EP approval letter, but they didn't actually ask for it at the airport -- just stamped our passports and gave us the social visit pass.

You arrive in Singapore, get a tourist visa, talk to your employer, apply with him together for an EP and keep your fingers crossed that the MOM will approve it. Depending on their criterias they will tell you to visit Uncle Doc to make sure your are a healthy fellow.

Your employer should already have filed for your EP and show know if you have been accepted. If you have been accepted they will have received the Approval in Principle letter which they should forward to you. Your letter is good for six months so if you are going to be over in a month this should already be filed.

If your emplyer has submitted manually it will take a minimum of about 7 days to process, more if there are questions about experience or credentials. If filed through EPOnline they can have an answer in as little as two days, again more if additional investigation is required.

If your employer has actually already applied, then they will have one of two things: Your FIN number and/or the application number and the application date. You can go to:

Click on the 'Proceed' button, next page click on the 'Agree' button, next page click the 'View Application Status' radio button and click on 'Proceed', next page enter either FIN or app number and date and click 'Proceed' and you can see for yourself what your EP status is.

As others have said, it is unlikely that you will need the letter. IF you were to have problems in the immigration line you would walk over to the desk in the arrival hall where they process EP's and work permits.

Thats why I asked if I need to get some copy of the document when arriving Changi.

So I think that I must ask for receiving the "Approval in Principle letter", or even better, the FIN code, right?

You want the Approval in Principle letter and if you know your EP is approved your employer already has it, or if they filed EPOnline they can print it off. Your FIN will be insufficient if asked but I doubt you will be asked. You get a couple of weeks or more on your passport when you come in, then take care of it.

When I cam here i just have my appointment letter and a scanned and e-mailed copy of the In-Principle Letter of Approval from MOM which was applied for me by the company...

You don't have to have your employment pass because you can only get that when you're already here...

I know you do not need a visa to enter SIngapore if you are a British citizen. I think EU citizens should be the same. It is best to call a Singapore High Commissioner in your area to check.

Can your company write you a letter to confirm that you will be working there and that you are being granted an EP?

EU citizens don't need advance visas to visit Singapore. Just enter on a tourist visa and then go to the Ministry of Manpower (hopefully with your employer's representative) to sort out the paperwork afterwards.

my husband's EP application is underway. we'll be booking our flights shortly and although in theory, we don't need visa to enter singapore, would showing up at changi with a one-way air ticket be a problem? would the in-principle approval settle it?

I forgot to print the in-approval letter, and was not a problem.

When you enter in Singapore without any EP or similar, you have a 30 day social-visit pass. That is enough for passing the medical examination and getting the EP if you have already requested it.

I arrived on March 12th, got the 30 days social visit pass, next day went for medical examination, and on March 16th I had my EP ready.

did you have a one-way ticket to singapore? that's what i'm worried about. although i've never had my tickets inspected at the immigration (in singapore and elsewhere), i can imagine that it may pose a problem as return tickets are normally required for entry.
