Hi everyone,
I am going to relocate to Singapore and working near the finance district. However, I am really depressed becuase of the housing problem. Please advise on the following questions:

1) Which district should i be looking if I don't want to live too far from the place where I am working ( within 30 mins of travelling)?

2) how much housing allowance should i ask for if I am looking for a studio or 1 bedroom appartment with the above criteria?

Thank you.

Hi sfho,

You can consider districts 01 (Shenton, Raffles area), district 9,10,11 (Bt Timah, River Valley, Orchard area, Novena, Newton areas), and district 15, east coast area (nearer to Tanjong Rhu and Meyer Road) as it is closer to the financial district.

Always ask for more allowance and negotiate down, perhaps ask for at least S$2k-3k?

Do contact us at (65) 61000300 or email: [email protected] should you require further assistance in the move.

thx for your reply but wow it cost that much to rent a 1-bedroom around those area?

To be honest I am just an entry level and I don't think the company will give me that much. Manager told me the allowance is around S$1000-$1200. So I think the money can't do much in those area that you have suggested and I have to use part of my salary to pay for the rent?? Thatz sad....

Thank you

Perhaps you should look into a HDB flat which would fit your budget more, another option would be room rental in a condominium unit, if facilities is what you're after. 8-)
