Good morning

I am looking for information re late pregnancy care in Singapore. I am currently in London and due to move with my family to Singapore at the end of march. I shall be about 30 weeks pregnant by then and was wondering how to get to register with doctors, obgyn ... I believe ,reading through the forum , that the hospital care in singapore is really good but don't really know wether i have to organise appointments before i leave the Uk or wait to arrive and then take the risk of not being seen for a while. I would greatly appreciate any advice and information anyone could give me re obgyn, midwives ...Many thanks

i went through the same thing when i moved at the end of last year. i was about 25 weeks then.

i did some research on the internet and shortlisted a few hospitals first, and then tried to look for doctors who deliver at those hospitals.

i shortlisted tmc, gleaneagles, and raffles, and then scheduled for hospital tours which all hospitals have at designated times. i called about 1 week in advance for that. they usually have the schedules on their websites.

i ended up just going to tmc and gleaneagles because i was short of time, and decided on gleaneagles as it was a much quieter environment then tmc.

and then i searched the forums and asked around a bit for some doctors who deliver there, and made appointments with two of them and finally decided on one. you don't need to book well in advance to see a doctor here, probably a few days in advance is enough. however, be prepared to wait to actually see the doctor that day. the waiting time is usually between 1-2 hours. after waiting 2 hours on one of my visits, now i go as soon as the clinic opens early in the morning to avoid the que.

hope this helps. good luck!

many thanks for your reply and info. It puts my mind at rest.
My husband is in Singapore at present looking for accomodation and all and i believe Gleneagles is the closest to where we would live but I was recommanded an obgyn delivering in Mount elizabeth. If you wouldnt mind giving me your feedback on gleneagles, i'd really appreciate.
Thanks again for your help
