Singapore Expats

Hi all,

I m n search of schools that teach Spanish (Beginers Level) within Singapore. I don wanna go with online courses, jus wanna hav real time classes.

If u hav heard such or gone thru such courses can you list them down..

Btwn, this forum doesnt have a title on Education so had to put this post here, while i m sure this post cant be either put n 'Parenting, Family and Schools'

why do u want to learn Spanish?

Well, anyway haven't heard of any formal Spanish school here...

maybe you can check the internet... yahoo search or google?

I'm part Spanish and when my abuela (grandma) was still alive we speak Spanish at home... but I can't help you that much... haven't had practice for the last 9 years...

A wee bit closer. The Philippines. So I would guess hers would be closer to Spaniards Spanish.

I m tired searching internet and in fact i wanna get opinion from persons who have learned thru classes and got the real benefit.

More over, i have gone thru online classes, where one cant speak to develop the language skill

Back in my university days, Spanish was a language elective. When I got out of the uni, I did take some courses in Instituto Cervantes. I'm not sure if there's a branch of Instituto Cervantes there. It's similar to the Alliance de Francais institute where you get to learn the language but the course fees are not that expensive.

Oh wait... I just googled Instituto Cervantes. It seems there's no IC in Singapore:

It's Spaniard Spanish... not the latino Spanish...

I also had Spanish language elective from the university....

but you really need someone who speaks the language as well... so you can practice... i think it's great idea to study iin a formal school...

No need to yeah i guess it is because that's my grandmother's language... what's wrong with that?

The first option is to find a Colombian girlfriend in Singapore, the colombian spanish is the purest in the world, and colombians are pretty and has cumbia in their blood.

2 NTU spanish society, They are nice but in general have no time for the meetings and you will learn only american words like "chili con carne" or "fajitas"

Told you, I'd sure like to have some of whatever he's smoking or snorting. Now I think I know. He's got his weed/snow mixed up with the language there. It not the language that pure!

Finding Colombians in Singapore is easy i know but coz of their tight schedule, cant have this topic to be discussed with..

i too have friends from mailfriends.com where many latino people from Ecuador, CO and much more could be found out, but in those forums one have to discuss only in English

while many latino forums are there too, but have to have good communication to discuss some topic there..

Cumbia is only a dance native Colombia.

What does having cumbia in one's blood have to do with language?

The only Spanish (as in Spain) school following the Instituto Cervantes syllabus in Singapore is Las Lilas Spanish and Portuguese Language and Cultural School
