i would like to have some feedbacks on how i should renovate my house as i am planning to rent it out.
What are some of the things people look for when deciding which house to rent?
somethings like do you like it furnished? would you want to rent the whole house or just maybe a room?

Some stuff which I would look at:
1. Cupboards, cabinets and bookshelves (space to store stuff)
2. Toilet bowls which do not use too much water during flushing
3. Bath tub that is not slippery when wet and hand rails on the side to help hoist myself up after an hour of soaking in the tub
4. Data ports and phone jacks in each room (if possible)
5. Light with a dimmer switch in the bedroom (to adjust light intensity whether one's reading or just watching tv)

would it be easier to rent out the whole house or just per rooms? i was thinking of doing themed rooms and renting out per room. would that be more attractive?

depends on the type of tenant you want, family, or younger people. Also depends on how much you want to spend.
If you rent to a family the income may be lower but they are more likely to keep the
property in good condition.
if you rent to a lot of tenants you could make more money, but they tend to take less responsibility for the upkeep of the property as their only vested interest is in a room of the house. which in turn can cost you more money when they do move out.

if i were to rent out per rooms, i would be engaging someone to do housekeeping of the house at least once a week. i understand that renting out to families would be better that's why i thought if i really wana rent out per room i should still be planning the overall housekeeping work myself to ensure that the tenants are happy and my house is kept clean

Hi I am an Interior Designer!
If you wanna renovate your house and rent it out, bear in mind that your first impression counts. You might wanna repaint your wall again and get the whole place tidy up so that people would feel good when they step into your house. Keeping the floor clean and clear of dirt is one of the top piority too. You won't want to make the viewer's sole feel sick when they just stepped into your home.
Minimize the amount of furniture in your house and play with their shape. Furnitures will make your house look either big or small and its your responsibility to play with it! Don't display too many things in the house too...as it will make the environment feel complex...minimize them!
It is important that your kitchen & toilet are in good shape because it one of those few places in your house where you would hate to see it n a bad shape. Trust me!
