hihi just wondering.. well i heard from a friend that SIA immediately screens out those who interviewed with them previously or their subsideries, so well on the SIA forms right, there's a box tat ask if u had previously interviewed with them.. we can't lie and tick no..

its like some ppl told me to tick no and some said just be honest. what are your views on this?

Honesty goes a long way.

Imagine u make it to management,
they tell u "lying is NOT accepted and u've been caught lying" and then they show u to the door the minute after u greet them (interviewers) good morning.

How is that?


Gurl, don't listen to others. Do wad u think is right.

if u think that lying is right, go ahead.


There are gurls who get in, in their 8th try, also stating its their 8th try. They didn't lie.

So gurl, there's absolutely nothing u have to hide from them.

Is it open to both steward and stewardess? Or only open to stewardess?

i think anything that you feel you r comfortable in... i saw some with jeans.. most of the girls were on the formal side... *whisper* some even wore kebaya...

just something you feel comfortable! personally, i prefer formal dressing.. afterall, it's an interview.. yar..

i agree with the rest who mentioned about honesty. anyway, the 'quantity' is not a problem here. its the 'quality' which sia is looking out for. be humble, accept all feedbacks positively and be prepared for the interview. There is nothing shamful about 'x' amount of attempts. sometime, the more u try, it may be a blessing in disguise. the company may think that 'this candidate is a very determined person, shouldn't we offer her the opportunity to show us what he/she have got'?

dresscode wise, as sia is a highly reputed company and had recently acquired 'Fortune 500 magazine, Top 20 most admired company (ranked 17th), all candidates are supposed to feel proud and delighted for our inhouse brand. a smart looking executive suit (if u like) or shirt + skirt or pants would be ideal. ignored those who did not bothered to dress up, this show 'how much' they adored this job. be proud, have pride and there u r, a prestigious and one of the highly-regarded one in the industry.

first and foremost, wear something u are comfortable and feel confident in.
Something u think u look good in too.

I was one of the very few at the walk-in who wore a dress. It was a slightly above knee, colourful floral one.

Many turned up in blouses and pants/skirts. The business type.
For the walk-in at the hotel, jeans and denim skirts(not SO short) are ok.

Gurls were not eliminated because of what they wear unless it was really extreme like MINI skirts & ULTRA-revealing SKIMPY tops.

Jeans are ok. Even girls in Spag top got through too.
But if u still don't feel comfortable and wanna play by the book, wear what the majority do. Office wear. U might look to oplain though.

But for management, ONLY FORMAL allowed.

For Singaporeans only. But i guess MAlaysians are ok too.
My batch has 2 Malaysians who got through.

Sorry Hero83, I forgot to ask about Stewards.

Ladies who are in their late 20s to 30s, It is ok. THERE IS NO AGE LIMIT. I repeat. NO AGE LIMIT!!!
BUt if u are older (29 onwards), u must be much better, more professional, have more to offer & look younger than u are.

Ya you notice SIA never state their dress code at all so you can go in any attire but make you carry yourself well and you look GOOD.

Will probably wear something formal then especially taking into my account my age, think it won't look too good to go in jeans.. haha will go with perhaps pants and shirts ensemble..boring but safe?
