Sorry belle1980 but I am afraid there is not enough data to answer your question. You haven't told us whether you are a local/PR or a foreigner. You also haven't told us what your major is. Additionally, if you are still in school are you setting your requirements too high initially? Just because the statistics say you should earn $xxx /mo in this occupation does that mean you automatically should get that amount? You have also not indicated whether or not you have experience. Like I said, not enough data.

I suppose job market is different to loacl and foreigners?

Not really, except that many local jobs cannot be taken by foreigners.

But where foreigners can work I've seen that local talent is on a competitive footing... all it takes is equivalent experience, education, attitude, and track record of success.

I am PR here, but i dont think so PR easy to find job~

one thing you are right, myabe my requirements too high, I must know the fact that i am only 1 year experience, I need learn~~~~

what is your major? One possible reason could be due to your English. Frankly speaking, fr what you posted it seems that your English is not very good. Unless you know Mandarin, otherwise, yes, it is hard.

hahahah People who can speak English are told to speak Mandarin but people who can speak Mandarin are being advised to learn English.

Why dont employers term the word "Bilingual " as English and Malay or tamil or something else ?

I am new here having come on a DP pass. am a qualified acct from india......but i am not getting any responses for my applications. any other means to try for a job.........pls advise. or would u say waiting till we can apply for a PR next year to try and get a job would be simpler?

How familiar are you with the online workpermit application software from MOM? How about ACRA? IRAS? GST? (not what it is, but how to access and use online). If you are trying to get a job as an accountant (not an accounts assistant/executive - which is the same thing as a bookkeeper) you will have to be familiar with the local filing requirements, statutory requirements and so forth. It might be better to set your sights slightly lower and get a job first. Having said that, be sure to note to prospective employers that you ARE on a Dependant's Pass which will qualify you to get a Letter of Consent (requested by the employer). This will give you the right to work and won't cost the employer anything in foreign worker levies either. They won't have any levies or employer cpf contributions to pay. This is a selling point!

So what m i doing now.I working out my small biz,doing part time teaching,do some volunteer works.Taking vocal course too.
I knoe a little basic tarot reading.

Teach what u proud of or provided your skills to ppl who need help,who dun knoe what u knoe.U can get more friends,more oppunjunity.

One of the best ways to improve your English skills is to stop using this silly sms writing. Writing in proper English, using complete sentences, will quickly improve your language proficiency.
