Moving over to Singapore in June from UK. I will miss 'real ale' ! From what I've seen from my visits - lager is the preferred cold drink in bar rather than 'ale'.
Has anyone been to the micro-brewery, which I have heard about? Is it worth a visit?

Are you talking about Brewerkz? Its pretty good... Has about a dozen or so different beers to choose from. Bizarre pricing though - it gets more expensive the later in the day it becomes! Pays to start swilling before 8pm... Food there is pretty decent too - its a very chilled laid back place.

There are 2 or 3 micro breweries but I think Brewerkz is the one you have heard about as rhino says. They do a wide range from stout to lager with a few decent ales on the way - my fave is the IPA. They also do pigs and barrels for functions at home or you can take away bottles.
It is in a building called Riverside Point on Clarke Quay. If you get your company to book you into the Merchant Court hotel then you'll be able to crawl home after a session. Good thing is that unlike Tiger and all the other lagers here, I never get a headache after a night at Brewerkz.

That is the one I was thinking about. Thanks.
Will have to stop by there when I arrive. Can't wait now. Looking forward to it. Just counting down the days til I leave!
What's the weather like at the moment?

Brewerkz is great. I go at lunchtime and it is only around $3.50 a pint then.
There are a few others around now too. The Pump Room which is by the fountain in Clarke Quay is one but it is a bit expensive. They're trying to be a wine bar but with beer from what I can see (pricey food and not much of it!) - it doesn't work for me, I still prefer Brewerkz.
Another one is the Pauliner Brauhaus at Suntec which is OK.

Excellent. Thanks! I'll have time to settle in, before new football season starts too - which I can watch in there!

I just had a leaving do with a few "party pigs" (9l mini-barrels) of Golden Ale from Brewerkz. Less than 80 bucks a go and each one comes in a specially adapted cool box full of ice so you just take it home and poor it out.
Wish I'd found out about it earlier!

There are a few micro breweries in Singapore worth checking out (see list below) and many of the pubs serve bottled ale.
Brewerkz
Archipelagos (this is Tiger's micro brewery)
The Pump Room
Paulaner Brauhaus
The Red Dot Brewhouse
There is also a home brew club here that is worth joining, the joining fee is very small and the discounts defiantly make it worth while joining.
