Singapore Expats

Hi
I am from india. I am coming to singapore with my husband and a kid. I will resign from my current job(Software Engineer) as I have to acompany my husband in singapore. I can't do job in singapore as my baby is just 11 month old. I just want to know what the other expat's wife do in singapore whan their husbands are on work.

Well, I was an expat wife for eight years and my advice is this. Talk to all the mums at school, talk to the neighbours. Join a gym. Work for a charity. Try to get lots of local friends, not just your countrymen. Go out walking. Cycle. Join a library....good in Singapore. Ask if you can work gratis for someone in business. I did, and it worked out well. Learn a new skill. Go to your embassy and find out what there is you may be able to do there. Smile. Go to the beach. Volunteer to look after other kids in return for them looking after yours, always an icebreaker. Study online for another degree or qualification. The world is yours really. And you will love Singapore.
