Singapore Expats

When I started looking for an appartment, one of the main question I had was : Where is the best place to live ?
Of course this is really hard to define THE best place as all of them have pros and cons and moreover it also depends on the transportation means available (i.e : with car or not) .

There I was curious to know where people in this forum were living.
I'll be concentrating my answer mainly on the "center" and let say "popular" areas, sorry if I missed some places.

BTW : when answering, it can be nice to tell us why you choose that place and if you still like it now

Jurong, chosen 'cause it's close to my workplace and I'd rather commute 2 x 5 minutes daily and 30 min occasionally when I go to the city, instead of 2 x 30 min every day and 5 min occasionally.

Will probably move more towards the center once my lease expires, I'm starting to understand why Holland V is so popular. But deeply held personal convictions against driving cars myself does limit the options to some extent.
