Does anyone know what kind of salary range I should expect as a registered nurse over here? I am degree qualified, five years experience, post graduate specialty qualifications and am in the middle of my masters- (all of my qualifications are from Australian or English universities)? I am having soo much difficulty finding this information from google, job classifieds, ministry web sites etc. and all job advertisements request that you submit an expected salary with job applications..... I dont want to 'price myself out of the market'... cheers!

These figures are of course Sing Dollars and are Median Wages so starting figures will be lower in a lot of instances. The Nursing profession is not a well respected profession in Asia, unlike Western Societies.

I am an American BSN degree holder and RN, specializing in trauma and Surgical/Cardiac ICU. I have been extremely disappointed with trying to find a decent nursing situation in Singapore. The pay is around 2000-3000/month Singapore dollars and that's for 6 days/week!! There do not seem to be any part-time positions and nurses are not well-respected by doctors or the general public. I was even told by a couple of HR people of local private hospitals, that I "wouldn't like" nursing in Singapore based on my experiences in the US where nurses have a great deal of responsibility and clout in the hospital especially ICU.
Sorry to be discouraging, but I wish I would have known this before coming to Singapore as I would have been more realistic about my working expectations.
Good luck, you find otherwise, let me know!
