Singapore Expats

I think cutting hair in Singapore is far much expenssive than in my country. Is there any place where i can cut my hair for a cheap price? Any recommendation? I think in my country you can cut your hair for S$ 7-10.

The normal price for the local Malay/Indian Barber located in small shops in every housing estate/shopping centre in Singapore I think you will find they are around $8 (male). I've been using one for a couple of years and am okay but with almost no hair I am not looking for styling per se.

Normally I cut my own hair, it's just when I'm feeling lazy that I use a barber.

I've used EC house but I also don't have it styled... just a straight shave job and they were fine. They even hoovered me afterwards so that there were no random hairs left over

There's plenty of them around and they're cheap.

Oh thank you for replying my message, 8-10 is allright with me, gotta bookmark them. Btw how much tips do i have to give to them? In my country its normal to give them a buck (because we are student).

Hi, it is not a necessity to give tips when you go to the barber or salon. Only if you are very pleased with the service, then you can feel free to give tips, but please do not spoil the market by giving tips unnecessarily, before every Tom, Dick and Harry in the service line starts expecting tips for atrocious service.

yeah EC rocks. really efficient and they do a nice job. mind you, my haircut is really simple, but still, S$10 is a lot cheaper than where i'm from!

there is a blind barber in tiong baru who will shave your head for S$3. He only does this style of cut. Be careful though as he sometimes strays across the eyebrows. He doesn't expect tips, especially if he lops off an eyebrow..

@Edward Sim Oh ok i will keep that in my mind. Coz in my country if you dont give them a bucks or more to the hairdresser, the next time you go there, they will ignore you. You have to wait almost an hour to before you can have your hait cut.

kimage hairstylist, even the apprentices, offer pretty decent haircut. giving tips for haircut is pretty unheard of here. and u dont have to worry abt ignored on your nexxt visit. I dont think it will happen here.cheers!
