i find burmese art to be some of the most aesthetically pleasing art in asia. and, you can really get it on the cheap when you go there. i have a beautiful painting hanging up in my office that attracts heaps of comments.

but, it's really hard to predict what is and isn't a good investment. the govt policies & actions there mean that it's still not a 'mainstream' country like vietnam has become, so it's difficult to say when the country will open up more to the world.

as u have shared with us that it is one of a kind of art too.

in aesthetcially sense, its has its own notion of taste, value and message to bring across. in other words, its value is hard to be valuated at this moment too.

But due to this i belive that theres this small spark of moment that could ignite it into something really big.

since you had some painting from burma? would like to share with the painting that you have?

That is the same with all art no matter where is comes from

The only thing that will ignite the art world in Burma is to remove the Junta from power and reopen the country. Until that happens you are wasting your time.
