They're always empty but they don't seem to stop. What's wrong?

they are waiting for bookings. extra $4 for their troubles...

i thought they were lazy they want the extra commission, but it could also be a shift change. or they could be on the way to pick someone up, but they 4got to change their sign. or the stop location might not be "safe." but probably because they want the extra commission of getting a ph.call booking.

Ya, go down to clarke quay on a weekend night, the queue and the no pick ups is crazy.

The problem with taxis in Singapore is that there is a peculiar "call booking" system that allows the drivers to pick up an extra $4 by responding to a telephone booking. This is much higher than the standard flag-down rate of $2.50 to $2.70. If you are in a hurry and want to be guaranteed a taxi at a certain time, the only option is to call for one in advance.

Do these taxi drivers know they have an impact on our tourism industry?
Sigh.
What can we do about it?
