Hi... i'm new here. Been reading the posts & I find it amuzing how much some girls really want stewarding as a career. i take my hats off to all of you.

First and foremost, I'm a tall girl. Alot of people have been encouraging me to take up a career in modelling or air stewarding or any other dream jobs that only those with the height is able to apply.

U see, I was at a gathering quite a few times, accompanying my fiance, and during the 3rd event, as i grew to know familiar faces, i realised most of them are pilots. Tho I didn't really bother to ask which one, b4 i made an exit, one of them approached me n asked if i was interested to take up air stewarding with Silkair. Apparently, the management prefers recommendations.

So, encouraged by my fiance, i am starting to be a little bit interest & trying to recce. So could anyone help me out? I couldn't find their website on this. Need some answers. Abt skin, eyesight, height, medical, etc etc.. and what kind of mental preparation or expectations should i have??
Who knows, I could also ask the pilot whether I could bring u interested joining Silkair in too..?

Wellsh imie, i believe u 've read many & heard alot on requirements.
Basically, the essentials are good complexion, anything above 155-160 is good to go, no disease [healthy like everyone], i guess for mental wise "confident in speech, well-behaved & mannered" should put u ready for any of the airline interview. As for getting through, it all depends on the interviewer's perspective n types of people he/she is acquiring for.

i've been trying hard for the past 2 interviews i had with Emirates & Etihad T_T but sadly , didn't manage to get it. In-short, booted out T_T.
Im chinese, so that might be 1 possibility i hope not, to be able to get in should be another thing.

So whats in it for silkair? do they take in Male stewards?
i would love to be part of em. Still under a branch of SIA.. would be fine ^_^
Been in the air is always part of my dream. A steward profession was my goal. Gonna pursue it. U have any intros for me? imie?

Btw, don't listen to all those sceptical views, be optimistic for every opening slots, no harm trying it out for all the airlines. GoodLuck !!

i guess those those are married would have slim chances in getting in even you are tall... Personally if i am a interviewer i would prefer young n single ladies to join in. However there are always airlines might prefer!? Jia you!

Thanks for all ur replies & comments. To be very frank, Silkair have been looking for flight stewardess but they would prefer recommended by a silkair staff. I wasn't really keen in being an air stewardess, but at the same time, I don't wanna pass a good chance to apply in. So, which brings to the reason y i'm in here, u see.

Im actuali 1.72m tall, tanned skinned, wears glasses, got some chicken pox scars. which makes me curious whether im eligible? later tonight, theres a dinner with the same group of people and i tot b4 i break some questions to them, isn't better to make me sound silly in here & prevent dying of embarassment later right?

hehe... I experience it all. And I am telling you. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT.
Go International because: they offer better benefits and you get to travel.
Young people should not waste time on an airline who doesn't appreciate someone's hard work.
Go somewhere that can bring me places. Can bring you to where you want to go in the near future... Bring your career forward then stuck there and feel regret!

many crew resign every month. at least 30 on each month.
what do you think already of that place if ppl keeps on leaving?
it wasn't like tha before, but ever since something or somewhat changed it became more intense.

Wow thats a lot of crews resigning. But in the first place,
how come there are still people attending the interview and
yet get selected. But in the end, regret and resign.

Thought Silkair should be also a good airline since its SIA
subsidairy airline? Paywise is not bad right?

What changes does Silkair have make?
Can say it here? So since you are also regretting it.
Then why didnt quit or have you been going for any
other interview?
