vibrant place with live band

is there any place in singapore where we can catch some of the local rock acts performing live, over a beer or two?? i am looking for a solid rock-digging crowd and mean rock music that goes well into the nite.
no five star pub suggestions please.

Hi, theres a place called insomnia which is in Chijmes, just near Raffles Hotel. they have an awesome band that play there. not sure if they are there every night, but its definately worth it if they are. check it out at this website:

We were at the Pump Room a couple of weekends ago and it seemed ok...
Or check out Timbre near Empress Place, across from Boat Quay

where is DXO??
there is a big concert there on the 28th.
lots of local bands. 12$ entry fee.

At the Esplanade. Directly opposite Marine Square.

Try HOUSE OF ROCK at Tras Street, within Tanjung Pagar area.
The band plays a mean gigs of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Dream Theatre. Good crowd with some expats too.
