Pretty much. The alternative is east coast beach and changi beach. Both infested by squatters, familes on weekend bbqs and joggers.

Not aplenty mate but a couple I believe.

Sentosa is definitely a great place for beach reading.

Another is Changi Beach as mentioned by jamesy. Located in the East, you can enjoy a breezy afternoon if you can find a right spot there. Try the area after the SAF Ferry Terminal. Look at the map and you will know what I mean.

Also in the Eastern part of Singapore is the Pasir Ris Beach which can be as crowded as East Coast Parkway on a weekend and almost deserted on weekdays.

In the Northern and North-Eastern part, you can find Sembawang Beach and Punggol Beach respectively. Both beaches are not heavy with human traffic and you can have a nice very of a Kelong while taking a break from your book.

Happy Reading dude!!
