I think you just need to find that niche in Singapore where that Cantonese or HK community hangs out. There are loads of Malaysians who work in Singapore apparently, and the Malaysian Chinese all speak Cantonese. Now you just need to find them!

halo...i'm chinese from Malaysia...of course can speak fluent Cantonese as well

Jus join the Canto club but got no chance to join them for activieties or gathering.....

Anyway hoep to meet u at next gathering....

Me and my wife were once a member of that club, but we did not continue our membership after 1 year... It is just like what you said...
I think the Hongkonger in HK are much more better than the Hongkonger here in Sing... I dont know what happen to them here.. but it is just simply unacceptable..

Me and my wife always yum cha together almost every weekend..
if you are intrested to meet us up... I can alway PM you here...
If yum cha is boring, we can always go to Jap / Western / Italian restaurant...

Hi, i'm new in this forum, but in fact i have been staying in Singapore for 7 years.

I popped in this forum because i just stopped working since early this year and found that life without working sometimes is miserable.

I'm married with 2 young kids, sometimes my husband will go for mountain biking and then i will be left alone during weekends. I think it's time for me to get active again in social life.

Hi moonriver, i also like all the dessert and many years back my mom opened a tong sui shop in HK, so i have a special love for it.

But pls don't have bias against me, although i'm also a non-working mother, i'm a U-grad! hah...

If timing is right, i would also like to join you all for yum char in the weekend and may be bring along my elder 3 year old daughter. I also want her to speak more Cantonese with other people.

I'm from Malaysia, speaks Cantonese and whenever I tried to speak Mandarin, people ask me if I'm from HK. Gave up explaining that I did not study Chinese language while I was in school, so I said I'm from HK...

Talk about food in HK...oh man, the "won ton meen" is awesome, translucent crispy noodle, big big "won ton" full of crunchy fresh prawns and the hot mouth-watering soup...wow... *slurp*

Not to mention the "dim sum", every variety is so delicious...argh...I miss that so much!!

Wow...cantonese speakers
