Singapore Expats

Perhaps not an expat but is it easier for Malaysians to gain entry into Singapore for employment than other nationals?

My husband is a Malaysian citizen and degree-qualified with more than 7 years in hospitality - Food and Beverage. What sort of pass/visa can he apply for?

Sad to say but in Singapore, SP, EP depends on the monthly salary de... Atleast he need to get an job in Singapore, to apply for it...

He will qualify just like anybody else, depending on his salary and educational qualifications. He is NOT just limited to an "S" pass, he can also get a P2 or even a P1 if his income is high enough. I don't know why some people here tend to put down our northern neighbours as only WP or S pass types of employees.

if your husband for the skills that singapore need, there's no reason why he cant get a job in singapore. doesnt matter if he is malaysian.

Thanks heaps everyone! I'm not too worried about my husband getting a job, a degree in hospitality is not exactly unskilled. It's a short term goal for me to work towards relocating to SEAsia but if we don't make it, then a holiday every year will suffice.

I am also from Malaysia, hv only been in singapore for <2mths. Getting a job here is not all that difficult, I have a couple of fellow malaysian friends working here too, not all of them r degree holders. PM me if you think I can be of any help.

Thank you for your post. I guess I was trying to find out if there is a special visa that Malaysians can get or that it's easier for employers to get an EP for Malaysians than for say, an Australian.
