do you know any nice place to have breakfast (western style breakfast)
in weekdays?

Ikea serves french toast, chicken sausage with beans. They also have pancakes and croissants. Not sure if this was what you were thinking but at least it's kid friendly and cheap.

thanks but ikea is for shopping good for me...i prefer outdoor places such as botanic garden (les amis)

actually it sounds delicious but i m just thinking about the place you know...you are talking about the one on alexandra road arent you?

how about lau pa sar then?

i'll be on the lookout for a place that has good coffee. (ie, not starbucksish coffee, but the proper stuff, made properly, and not tasting like warm milk....)

I have also been trying to find what we would call back in the states a nice "coffe shop" or "diner" for breakfast, but no luck so far. The closest I have found is Rocky Master on Orchard Road, opposite Orchard Parade Hotel. It has something called "American Breakfast" which is more what I would call a hybrid "British/American Breakfast". Eggs, Tomato, Cucumber, Toast, Hash Browns, Turkey, Bacon, Coffee and Juice for S$9. Quite a bargain if you can eat that much! I consider the coffee very good, but of course everybody has a different opinion about their coffee I believe they also have outdoor seating.
I have since given up and started having Roti Prata and curry for breakfast - when in Rome...

lau pa sar is in Boon Tat Street, off Robinson Road. it's very close to the CBD hence will have western food for the expat (and local) working in the area.

goto www.maps.google.com and do a search on "Boon Tat Street Singapore" to get a map of the location.

I like the bakery in the basement of Tanglin Mall. Its not outdoors, but does a nice bacon and eggs. set.
