leasing a car in Singapore

Moving to Singapore late this spring, can someone tell me what it might cost to least a small car in Singapore? Is there such a thing as weekend rentals? and what would that cost?

I used this firm to rent an SUV for a vacation in Malaysia. I found them very competitively priced and the service was good.

Weekend rentals are possible. Rental rates here are significantly steeper than the US, probably because of the taxes associated with getting a car. Prices vary with the model and length of time required.
Singapore idea of customer service: If you want to bring a car back on a public holiday, you cannot, and will be charged for an extra day.

If you're going into Malaysia on a longer trip, it's considerably cheaper to cross the border into JB and rent there, as cars and petrol are (literally) half price -- a S$200 rental in Sing is RM200 in Malaysia, and that S$2 litre of petrol is RM2 in Malaysia. I've used these guys once:

Their office is walking distance to the Causeway and they're nationwide, so you can eg. pick up your car in JB, drive up to Penang, drop it off at the airport there and fly back.
And no, you can't rent a car in Malaysia and bring it into Singapore for a longer period, because otherwise everybody would do that.

I hire from ORIX on a long term deal here in Singapore and I wont say anything publicly, but if you want details I can send them in a PM/Email.
I wont be renewing when the deal expires in July anyway.

I believe it's what's called a "paid ad". If you look at the ads on the pages here you'll notice that one come up fairly often.

Our banner advertisers, as part of the banner advertising package are allowed a sticky forum advertisement as part of the package. As these are then paid for messages, it is also why we do not allow regular posters to advertise. Why have someone paying for the advertisement if they were allowed to advertise in the forum threads for free?
