Singapore Expats

Hi, this topic might be a little irrelevant but please bear with me.

I'm hoping to see if there are any expats here who are going back to their own country for vacation any time soon. I'm requesting a small favour from you. Is it possible for you to buy back some items which are not available here in Singapore for me? I'm willing to pay you the full amount of the item plus a little commission.

This statement is a dead giveaway. Surely you recognize it by now. "Buy Back" definitely local who wants something not normally imported into Singapore. Who knows, might want you to go shopping in Victoria's Secrets? Not a bad deal.

I was intrigued enough to check out Victorias secrets - so how did you know about this, SMS? Maybe the poster wants some good old fashioned imports like Marmite or Tetley tea bags?!!!

What on earth would a Singaporean want with Marmite! They got durians! And now they got durain as well! I prefer Twinnings over Tetley!

So, durian is why my boys call this place Stinkypore, and as for Durain, he is the entertainment - concerning tea I would have expected you to be supping Green tea by now!

my kid once asked me why cant we have durain juice?

Gimme a strong Tetley cuppa any day of the week, I'm not posh, and a Tetley pint chaser after the brew too, good ale Tetley! A working mans breakfast drink! Tea I mean .

Yes and we all know about Victoria's Secret too, don't we! Although an American brand, I have seen quite a few, designs for real! HAVEN'T I VICTORIA!

Marmite is available in Singapore however it is kept, at my local NTUC, next to the plasters and bandages. I never did work that one out.

As for Twinings over Tetley's, give me the tea folk's brew anyday, so strong that the tea-spoon will stand up in it. We used to make our own Earl Grey at home but since we bought a dishwasher we find it is available less often.

KSL - Victoria told me your secret. Since taking up drinking vinegar I understand we are talking cournichons rather than gherkins? She was not amused. (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Carrying things on airlines for others - not a good idea but since they are so stingy with their allowances these days I am all for getting every bloody kilogramme on board as I bloody well can! Our personal record is 130kg for 2 adults and 2 kids in cattle class without any excess. It took a lot of blagging and I am sure others have done better but I was quite proud of that one.

Yes! I would love some Durian Vinegar, however durain juice not possible until your kiddy gets the spelling right! I almost fell for it!
